Canadian Pacific Kansas City Signs Intermodal Services Agreement With Schneider

By Adriano Marchese

Canadian Pacific Kansas City has signed an agreement with multimodal logistics company Schneider National Inc. to provide new single-line intermodal transportation on its north-south corridor connecting the U.S. and Mexico.

The newly-combined Canadian railroad said Friday that Schneider would transition its Mexico-U.S. traffic to CPKC starting in mid-May and the new services is expected to create service in lanes that haven't had single-line, truck-competitive intermodal options in the past.

As part of the multi-year agreement, Schneider would serve as an anchor domestic intermodal customer on CPKC's north-south flagship service between Chicago and all major destinations south of the border in Mexico, Canadian Pacific said.
