NextGen Healthcare Introduces N.I.A.™ for Insights, an Analytics Agent That Helps Healthcare Organizations Make Decisions Faster
New AI-Powered Solution Will Launch at UGM 26, NextGen Healthcare’s Annual User Group Meeting
NextGen Healthcare, a leading provider of innovative, cloud-based healthcare technology solutions, today announced N.I.A.™ (NextGen Intelligent Agent) for Insights, an analytics agent built directly into NextGen® Insights. It is available now to early adopters and will be generally available to all NextGen Insights clients with no upgrade required beginning early November. Attendees at NextGen Healthcare’s annual User Group Meeting (UGM 26) November 8-11 in San Diego, California, will be among the first to see it in action.
NextGen Insights is a secure, cloud-native platform that delivers actionable insights to improve practice outcomes. Data is refreshed daily and validated by automated data quality checks, enabling practices to surface revenue leakage, accelerate cash flow, optimize staffing, improve scheduling efficiency, and more.
N.I.A.™ is NextGen Healthcare’s intelligent orchestration agent designed to radically transform how providers and staff interact with the EHR. Through natural language voice or text, N.I.A.™ interprets intent and seamlessly coordinates a network of specialized AI agents, each with its own domain expertise. N.I.A. for Insights is the latest in a line of agentically orchestrated experiences, adding analytics support to complement existing clinical and practice workflow capabilities that help practices run more efficiently. Practice administrators and business leaders can ask about appointments, no-shows, reschedules, and cancellations in plain English and get answers, visualizations, and scheduling-optimization suggestions on demand, without wading through dashboards. It does more than report numbers: it interprets results, digs into root causes, and suggests the next best action so the whole practice gets insights, not just specialized analysts. Every answer is grounded exclusively in the practice’s own data, respects existing user permissions, and stays within NextGen Healthcare’s secure cloud environment.
“Practices have heard plenty of AI promises. What they need is answers they can trust, from their own data, inside the tools they already use. We developed this solution in close collaboration with our clients, drawing on their insights to ensure it addresses practical needs and delivers real value,” said Srinivas (Sri) Velamoor, president and chief executive officer, NextGen Healthcare. “N.I.A. for Insights puts a clear answer and a next step in the hands of everyone running the practice.”
In its first months using NextGen Insights, early adopter Vistar Eye Center saved about 5 staff hours a week on reporting while gaining a clearer understanding of the practice's operational and financial health. For example, when one provider’s no-show rate climbed, the team traced it to a scheduling template change. After the fix, the rate dropped from 18% to 11% in just six weeks, avoiding an estimated $30,000 in one quarter.
“What we were doing before was a lot of manual reporting and guesswork...In a meeting, someone might ask a question about a trend or change in the business,” said Joey Martinez, chief information officer, Vistar Eye Center. “Instead of leaving the meeting with more questions, we can [now] open NextGen Insights, drill into the data, and quickly understand what’s driving it. It doesn’t identify a fire that you have to put out after you leave the meeting — it’s a fire that’s extinguished during the meeting.”
Demos of NextGen Insights and N.I.A. for Insights will be available at UGM 26, taking place November 8-11, 2026, in San Diego. To learn more about how NextGen Healthcare is helping ambulatory organizations practice with confidence, visit nextgen.com.
