Teledyne FLIR Defense's Ranger R10-3DX Compact Mid-Range Counter-Drone Radar
The Ranger R10-3DX is engineered to support counter-drone, force protection, airport security, border security, coastal surveillance and other critical asset defense missions. Using advanced digital beam-forming technology, the R10-3DX provides continuous wide-area coverage and rapid threat detection while maintaining a compact, low size, weight and power footprint.
Ranger R10-3DX can detect micro-UAS targets at ranges exceeding 3 kilometers, pedestrians beyond 6 kilometers, and light vehicles at more than 12 kilometers. A single radar panel delivers 90-degree azimuth coverage and up to 60 degrees of elevation coverage, while a four-panel configuration provides full 360-degree surveillance.
“Small unmanned aircraft continue to present growing security challenges across military installations, airports, and other key infrastructure sites worldwide,” said Rob Tarantino, Senior Vice President of Surveillance at Teledyne FLIR Defense. “The Ranger R10-3DX gives operators an affordable, compact, and highly capable radar solution that delivers the early warning and tracking performance needed to counter evolving drone threats.”
The Ranger R10-3DX incorporates AI-based target classification algorithms that help users distinguish between drones, aircraft, birds, pedestrians and vehicles, enabling faster and more informed decision-making. Its ability to track multiple targets simultaneously makes it particularly effective against complex incursions and emerging drone swarm threats.
Built to operate in demanding environments, the radar features a rugged design qualified to MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G standards. The R10-3DX is compatible with fixed-site installations or mobile platforms and integrates easily with electro-optical/infrared sensors and mitigation systems to enable layered air defense architectures.
The Ranger R10-3DX will be available Q1-2027. To learn more about Teledyne FLIR Defense’s advanced radar portfolio and capabilities, visit us online.
