Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority and Ameresco to Host Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Energy Infrastructure Project
Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority and Ameresco to Host Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Energy Infrastructure Project
The Main Office solar and battery energy storage system is designed to offset approximately 100% of the facility's electricity use while providing more than 24 hours of backup power for critical wastewater utility operations.
Ameresco, Inc., (NYSE: AMRC):
WHAT:
Ameresco, Inc., (NYSE: AMRC), a leading energy infrastructure company delivering integrated solutions to create reliable power and modernize infrastructure, and Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority (RUSA) will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a new solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) at RUSA's Main Office. The installation pairs a 39.4-kWDC solar photovoltaic system with a 50 kW / 184 kWh BESS, expected to offset approximately 100% of the Main Office's electrical consumption while delivering more than 24 hours of onsite backup power during grid disruptions, improving power reliability for critical operations that serve the Roseburg community.
The project was funded through a combination of support from the Oregon Department of Energy's Community Renewable Energy Program (C-REP), Energy Trust of Oregon, and Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority.
The Main Office installation is the first phase of a broader energy infrastructure initiative developed in collaboration with Ameresco, which also includes planned solar PV projects at RUSA's Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Natural Treatment System (NTS). The full initiative is expected to generate approximately 1.8 GWh of renewable electricity annually across all three facilities, ultimately reducing long-term costs and strengthening community resilience.
The initiative has been recognized as a model for how agencies can implement integrated, replicable renewable energy infrastructure strategies, having recently been awarded two 2026 Best of the Best Awards from the Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies and PNCWA Excellence in Resource Recovery & Sustainability Award for 2026. The recognitions reflect RUSA & Ameresco’s shared commitment to modernizing energy infrastructure and delivering lasting value to the region.
