Optimum Brings Fastest Fiber Internet to Abbeville, Investing in the Community’s Future

New fiber network delivers speeds up to 8 Gbps to Abbeville residents and businesses; Optimum also announces $10,000 investment in local education

Optimum, a leading provider of fiber internet, mobile and TV services, today announced the launch of its new fiber network in Abbeville, bringing residents and businesses access to internet speeds of up to 8 Gbps and making a $10,000 investment in four local schools: James A. Herod Elementary, Eaton Park Elementary, J.H. Williams Middle School, and Abbeville High School.

The new network marks Optimum’s first fiber build in Abbeville and brings the company’s advanced fiber technology to a growing community. With service now available, Abbeville residents and businesses can access Optimum’s fastest internet speeds, designed to provide the capacity and performance needed for today’s increasingly connected homes, classrooms and businesses.

Optimum’s fiber network delivers symmetrical upload and download speeds, making it easier for families to work, learn, stream, game, connect smart devices and share large files – even when multiple devices are connected at the same time. Businesses can also leverage multi-gigabit connectivity to support cloud applications, video conferencing, large file transfers and other critical business needs.

“Abbeville is a community with tremendous momentum, and we’re excited to be investing in its continued growth,” said Jesse Garcia, Vice President, General Manager, Mid-Central. “Bringing our fiber network to Abbeville means residents and businesses now have access to speeds up to 8 Gbps, but our investment goes beyond connectivity. We’re also investing in the local community because we believe strong communities and strong connections go hand in hand.”

As part of its commitment to Abbeville, Optimum will donate $10,000 to James A. Herod Elementary, Eaton Park Elementary, J.H. Williams Middle School, and Abbeville High School to support STEM resources. The investment is part of Optimum’s broader commitment to being a community partner and supporting the schools, students and organizations that help local communities thrive.

The Abbeville launch is part of Optimum’s ongoing investment in fiber infrastructure and its commitment to bringing advanced connectivity to communities across Louisiana. With fiber now available in Abbeville, customers can choose from plans offering speeds of up to 8 Gbps, providing the capacity to keep pace with the growing demands of connected homes and businesses.
