FirstEnergy Ohio Utilities’ Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) RFP: Overview Webinar for Prospective Bidders on Thursday, October 1, 2026
CRA International, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAI), a worldwide leader in providing economic, financial, and management consulting services, today announced that a Request for Proposals (RFP) process will be conducted for FirstEnergy Corp.’s (NYSE: FE) Ohio subsidiaries – Ohio Edison Company, The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, and The Toledo Edison Company (collectively, the “Companies”) – to procure Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), which may include both solar and non-solar Renewable Energy Credits. The REC RFP process will lead up to the bid proposal submission date scheduled for November 2, 2026.
RECs sought in this RFP must be:
- Eligible for compliance with the Companies' 2026 renewable energy obligations.
- Sourced from generating facilities certified in accordance with the rules and procedures put forth by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO).
- Deliverable through PJM Environmental Information System Generation Attribute Tracking System (EIS GATS) and generated between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2026.
The RFP will be managed by the RFP Manager, CRA International, Inc. The RFP is being conducted pursuant to approval from the PUCO.
The RFP Overview Webinar for prospective bidders for the November RFP is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026. Instructions on how to join the webinar session are available on the Information Website at firstenergy-recrfp.com. The Credit Application and Qualifying Application are due from prospective bidders no later than October 26, 2026, and the Bid Pricing Proposal is due no later than November 2, 2026.
