Blend and Alliant Credit Union Partner to Reimagine the Journey to Homeownership
Blend and Alliant Credit Union Partner to Reimagine the Journey to Homeownership
Blend to power Alliant’s new digital mortgage experience and mortgage application capabilities within Journey Home
Blend Labs, Inc. (NYSE: BLND) today announced an expanded partnership with Alliant Credit Union, a top 10 credit union in the U.S. by asset size, to help reimagine the homeownership experience — from preparing to buy through financing and closing.
The partnership begins with a completely modernized mortgage experience powered by Blend, allowing Alliant members to move from prequalification to a full mortgage application in minutes, with automated income and asset verification, digital document management and digital closing.
Blend will also provide the mortgage application capabilities behind Alliant Journey Home, Alliant Credit Union's end-to-end homeownership experience designed to support consumers from saving for a down payment through home search, financing, closing and ultimately moving into their new home.
"Homeownership is one of the most important financial milestones in a person's life, yet the journey remains unnecessarily complicated," said Mike Dobbins, CEO of Alliant Credit Union. "Our vision for Journey Home is to bring together the tools, guidance and financing consumers need into a seamless experience that supports them every step of the way. By expanding our partnership with Blend, we're building a smarter, more connected path that helps more people achieve the dream of homeownership."
Journey Home is designed to connect parts of the homebuying process that have traditionally been fragmented, while creating meaningful value and savings for consumers along the way. Blend’s technology will power the transition from preparing for and finding a home into financing it.
For Blend, the partnership also represents a broader opportunity to demonstrate how technology can move beyond digitizing individual transactions and help financial institutions create more connected consumer experiences.
“What excites me about Alliant is that they’re thinking bigger than a faster application,” said Nima Ghamsari, Co-founder and Head of Blend. “They’re asking what the entire journey to homeownership would look like if you redesigned it around the consumer, from saving for a down payment to finding a home, financing it and moving in. We’re proud to be the mortgage technology engine behind that. Because people aren’t trying to get a mortgage. They’re trying to get a home.”
