Bessemer Venture Partners Closes $5.75 Billion to Back Founders From Seed Through Growth
New capital includes $1.75 billion for seed and early-stage investing and $4 billion for growth investments, amid accelerating opportunities across the AI stack
Bessemer Venture Partners (“Bessemer”) today announced $5.75 billion in new capital, raised in a single close: $1.75 billion for seed and early-stage investing and $4 billion for growth investments.
The new capital is designed for a market where AI is transforming how quickly new technology companies can emerge, scale, and create enduring value. It gives Bessemer the ability to partner with founders from inception through growth, while making concentrated investments in the companies shaping the AI era. Since 2022, Bessemer has backed more than 260 AI-native companies, investing more than $3 billion across the full AI stack, from compute and infrastructure to foundation models, developer platforms, applications and agents.
Early-stage investing remains central to Bessemer's strategy. Approximately 70 percent of the firm's investments are made at this stage, a discipline reinforced by the $1.75 billion committed to backing founders early in their journeys. It reflects Bessemer's roadmap-driven approach, studying emerging markets deeply enough to recognize a shift before it's widely understood, then partnering with the founders behind it, often before they have generated revenue or established a category. Companies like Abridge, Perplexity, Shopify, Toast and Wonderful reflect that enduring commitment.
The $4 billion for growth reflects Bessemer's expanding investment in category-leading companies, as businesses stay private longer and create more value before ever reaching public markets. What began as an extension of Bessemer's early-stage work is now its own dedicated growth platform, with capital and partners focused on leading concentrated, high-conviction investments in both existing portfolio companies and new opportunities. The firm has applied this approach with such companies as Anthropic, DriveNets, fal, ClickHouse, Cognition, EliseAI, EvenUp, Legora, Ramp, ShopMy, and Waymo.
“While the playbook has evolved, our conviction has not: identify transformative technology shifts early, back exceptional founders before the market fully recognizes the opportunity, and continue investing as their ambition compounds,” said Bessemer Partner Jeremy Levine. “AI is creating a generational opportunity, and this capital strengthens our ability to make the first bets on the founders shaping the AI age."
"AI-native companies are scaling faster than any category of technology we've backed before,” said Bessemer Partner Byron Deeter. “The expansion of our growth practice is built for that velocity, with dedicated capital and partners to lead concentrated, high-conviction rounds in the companies defining this era, whether we've been with them since seed or we're meeting them for the first time."
Bessemer’s AI investment thesis builds on decades of investing across the technology transitions that preceded it: the compute and infrastructure that now underpin AI; the cloud and SaaS era, which revealed where traditional software approaches reach their limits; and the hardware and physical systems now advancing defense tech and physical AI. The firm applies that experience globally, partnering with visionary teams building and transforming industries across the United States, Europe, India, and Israel.
