SS&C Selected to Support Principal Retirement Income Offering
SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSNC) today announced that Principal Financial Group has selected SS&C Retirement Solutions to support connectivity and administration for its growing retirement income suite. Principal will use SS&C‘s Retirement Income Clearing & Calculation (RICC) platform to help support distribution across a growing line of proprietary and curated third-party retirement income products.
“As plan sponsors look for ways to help employees move from accumulation to income, connectivity across the retirement ecosystem is becoming increasingly important,” said Brett Fisher, assistant vice president of investment product strategy at Principal Financial Group. “Greater standardization and connectivity across providers can help facilitate portability and support broader access to retirement income options for plan sponsors and participants.”
SS&C RICC is designed to help facilitate interactions between providers and recordkeepers, supporting a more standardized approach to delivering retirement income solutions. The engagement builds on SS&C’s long-term relationship with Principal, including fund services provided by SS&C Global Investor & Distribution Solutions.
“We are pleased to extend our valued long-term relationship with Principal Financial Group,” said Michael Rogalski, Head of SS&C Retirement Solutions. “As the industry creates more ways to help investors convert savings into steady retirement income, it’s more important than ever to ensure connectivity and portability for these solutions. We look forward to working with Principal Financial as they scale their retirement income offering.”
SS&C RICC platform is on track to connect seven major recordkeepers representing $6.6 trillion in assets under administration and 70 million participants by the end of the year. Learn more here.
