Lawdragon Honors Four Lyons & Simmons Partners in 2027’s Top 500 Litigators
Dallas personal injury firm’s partners recognized as Lawdragon expands guide to include leading plaintiffs’ attorneys
Lyons and Simmons, LLP is proud to announce partners Michael P. Lyons, Chris Simmons, Christopher Carr and Stephen Higdon were named to the list of the 2027 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America, recognizing accomplished trial lawyers from across the nation.
The annual Lawdragon guide honors lawyers who have distinguished themselves through their courtroom leadership, significant matters and contributions to the practice of law. Previously focused on attorneys representing corporations and other defendants, the 2027 guide marks the first time Lawdragon has expanded its Leading Litigators recognition to include lawyers whose practices primarily focus on representing plaintiffs.
For Lyons & Simmons, the recognition underscores the firm’s national reputation for representing individuals and families in high-stakes catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death litigation.
“We have built this firm around taking on difficult cases for people whose lives have been fundamentally changed by someone else’s negligence,” said partner Michael Lyons. “To have four of our partners recognized among the country’s leading trial lawyers is an incredible honor. More importantly, we are grateful to the clients who trust us to stand beside them during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.”
Over the past three years, Lyons & Simmons attorneys have obtained a number of significant settlements for clients in complex personal injury and negligence matters. The firm also secured a series of record-breaking verdicts in important cases, including one of Texas’ largest negligence verdicts of 2025 when a Bexar County jury returned a $109.5 million verdict against CPS Energy arising from a catastrophic home explosion that severely injured two members of a San Antonio family.
The Lawdragon recognition is the latest in a series of honors for Lyons & Simmons and its attorneys. The firm was recently ranked the No. 1 Personal Injury Law Firm in Dallas in Texas Lawyer’s “Best Of” 2026, and Lyons & Simmons was honored by The National Law Journal as the 2026 Elite Trial Lawyers award winner for Catastrophic Injury.
“We are incredibly proud to see four of our partners recognized on this list,” said partner Chris Simmons. “It reflects the standard we have set for ourselves as trial lawyers and our longstanding commitment to pursuing the best possible outcome for every client we represent. None of it would be possible without the trust our clients place in us.”
