New Nacha Payments Innovation Alliance Project Team Focused on Stablecoins and Tokenized Deposits
New Nacha Payments Innovation Alliance Project Team Focused on Stablecoins and Tokenized Deposits
As digital assets become an increasingly important part of the payments universe, Nacha's Payments Innovation Alliance is unveiling its newest initiative: the Next-Gen Currency Project Team. The team, led by Nacha and the Digital Sovereignty Alliance, will explore the global use of digital assets—including stablecoins and tokenized deposits—for money movement.
“While digital assets like stablecoins and tokenized deposits are gaining popularity and acceptance, there are also many questions. That’s one of the things making this project team so critical,” said Jane Larimer, Nacha President and CEO. “The team has essential work ahead as it looks into the potential implications digital assets might have for all types of payments, as well as tracking developments on the regulatory front.”
“Digital assets are still new, and the more educational resources available to the payments industry, the better,” said Molly Woodman, Senior Policy Advisor, Digital Sovereignty Alliance, and Project Team Co-Leader. “Creating those resources will be a key goal of this team as we work to bridge the divide between digital assets and more traditional payment methods.”
As a membership organization, Nacha’s Payments Innovation Alliance brings together diverse, global stakeholders to grow and advance future payment trends, collaborate, and provide solutions. Visit the Nacha Payments Innovation Alliance website to discover more about what the Alliance does and ways to get involved with fellow payments industry leaders.
