Empire Metals study backs Pitfield as largest titanium resource

(Alliance News) - Empire Metals Ltd on Wednesday said that a new mineral resource estimate confirmed its Pitfield project in Western Australia as the world's largest titanium resource.

The upgraded mineral resource estimate defined 8.16 billion tonnes containing 349 million tonnes of titanium dioxide, across the Thomas and Cosgrove deposits.

Managing Director Shaun Bunn said "Pitfield has the hallmarks of a tier-one titanium project: scale, grade, simple mining methods, processing route based on conventional processing steps and direct access to global markets, in a strategically important mining friendly jurisdiction."

Empire Metals shares closed up 12% at 51.20 pence in London on Wednesday.
