Net Expense Ratio

The net expense ratio is the percentage of a fund's assets used to pay for operating expenses such as management fees, distribution fees, and other costs (excluding brokerage costs from trading activities). Sales charges for mutual funds, called loads, are also excluded. The ratio is taken from the fund's annual report and typically does not include acquired fund fees and expenses from investments in other funds.
