The Morningstar Uncertainty Rating is designed to capture the range of potential outcomes for a company's intrinsic (or fair) value. This rating also helps analysts identify when a higher margin of safety is needed before investing, which in turn drives the Morningstar Rating for stocks. The Uncertainty Rating represents our analysts’ ability to connect the estimated value of a company’s shares to the fair value estimate.
