Effective Duration

Effective duration measures a fund’s sensitivity to changes in interest rates, taking into account the impact of embedded options in bonds; the longer the duration, the more sensitive the fund is to rate movements. Duration is influenced by factors such as coupon rates and bond maturities, with lower coupons generally increasing duration and shorter maturities or higher coupons reducing it. This measure reflects only the fixed-income portion of the portfolio.
