Average Indexed Monthly Earnings
Average indexed monthly earnings (AIME) are used to determine the amount of Social Security benefits an individual can receive.
AIME uses the 35 highest-earning years of a person’s life until age 60 to determine average monthly Social Security benefits. AIME also adjusts these top-paying years to account for inflation.
