Average Effective Duration

Average effective duration is a measure of a portfolio's interest rate sensitivity. The longer the fund's duration, the more sensitive it is to shifts in interest rates.

Duration is formula that includes a bond's coupon rate and maturity. Small coupons tend to increase a duration measure, while shorter maturities tend to shorten duration. The data point is only representative of the fixed income portion of a portfolio.
