Political Contribution

What is a political contribution?

A political contribution is money given to legislators, political action committees, or special interest groups to influence political outcomes.

Political contributions allow companies to impact what legislation is created and how existing laws are regulated. Companies regulated by local, state, or federal government may be more inclined to contribute money to legislators or interest groups that share their political views.

An excessive amount of political contributions may expose companies to political controversies or reflect excessive involvement in political affairs.
