Access student, teacher, and military discounts
Morningstar offers discounted Morningstar Investor pricing for eligible students, teachers, and members of the military. Each discount requires verification through SheerID, our secure third-party provider. Your discount eligibility may need to be reverified periodically.
Who Qualifies
- Students: Full or part-time college students, post-secondary/ trade-school students, all high-school students 16 and older, and high-school students accepted into a college (US only).
- Teachers and Educators: K-12 educators, faculty, and professors at institutions of higher learning (US only)
- Military: Active duty and military veterans or retirees (US only). This discount is available for new subscribers only.
How to Access a Discount
- Visit one of the below discount pages:
- Select Start Free Trial.
- Complete verification by filling out the form and uploading proof of status, if needed (such as a student ID, employment document, or military ID).
- Once approved, you’ll be directed back to checkout with your discount applied.
- Discounts cannot be applied retroactively to existing accounts.
Reverification After Your Term Ends
At the end of your discounted term, you may be asked to reverify your status to continue receiving the discount.
- Students: Reverification is required every two years.
- Teachers: Reverification is required every four years.
- Military: This discount will expire after your first year and you will renew at full price.
Students and teachers: If you do not reverify before renewal, your subscription will be automatically canceled upon completion of your discount period.
Reapplying After Cancellation
If your discounted subscription is canceled or expires, you can reverify and re-subscribe at the discounted rate as long as you still qualify:
- Return to the relevant discount page.
- Complete verification again.
- Sign in with your existing Morningstar account to maintain access to your saved information.
