Veteran manager Barry Crosthwaite will transition off American Funds AMCAP on Jan. 1, 2022, and retire from American Funds’ parent Capital Group around that time. He worked in business for 14 years before transitioning to asset management and spent his entire 25-year investment career at Capital Group. Crosthwaite will also step away from his portfolio management duties on American Funds Investment Company of America AIVSX and American Funds Growth Fund of America AGTHX on Sept. 1, 2021, and Nov. 1, 2021, respectively.
