The US Department of Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration plan to eliminate a wide range of petroleum-based food dyes in packaged foods by the end of 2026. This builds off of pending statewide bans, including in California.

Hershey and Mondelez: We Don't See a Tie-Up as Imminent, Given Persistent Hurdles

Bloomberg reported that Mondelez has approached Hershey about a potential takeover. This would mark the second time in the past eight years that Mondelez sought a deal with the leading domestic chocolate manufacturer, souring on its prior attempt within a few months' time.
