GlobalFoundries: More Asset-Light Growth Enabled by Two New State-Owned Factories

GlobalFoundries plans to build two new factories that cost $21 billion in total. Each fab has a capacity of 75,000 300-mm wafers per month and is the largest single-fab, single-phase expansion in the US to date with public capacity figures. Construction of the second fab will be decided in 2028.
