Franklin Resources has historically had the capital to effect change but has, in our view, been lackluster about attacking deficiencies in its operations, especially when addressing its poor investment performance. While the current management team has been far more aggressive about shaking things up, meaningful changes in research and investment processes and subsequent improvements in performance will take some time.

How we make money

Our investment management business generates asset-based fees, which are calculated as a percentage of assets under management. We also sell both admissions and sponsorship packages for our investment conferences and advertising on our websites and newsletters.
