Korean Memory Players Rise on Chip Purchase Deal With Nvidia, but Long-Term Benefits Are Uncertain

The South Korean government announced a partnership on Oct. 30 with Nvidia to purchase 260,000 of its latest chips to boost its artificial intelligence infrastructure and integrate AI into semiconductor manufacturing. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix shares rose 3% and 10%, respectively, on Nov. 3.
