Wells Fargo Is Expected to Grow Steadily in the Next Few Years
Business Strategy and Outlook
Wells Fargo remains in the middle of a multiyear rebuild. The bank finally had positive news on the regulatory front as its asset cap was lifted in June 2025. The bank still has years of expense-saving projects ahead of it as it attempts to get its efficiency ratio back under 60%. The company plans to take several years to improve and invest in its current businesses. This includes increasing its share of the middle-market investment banking sector, investing more resources into its credit card services, and revitalizing its wealth management division, which has experienced a decline in advisors. These tasks take on increased importance for a bank that has been on defense for years after its fake accounts scandal broke in late 2016.
