European funds gathered €184.2 billion in the first quarter of 2026. While January and February drove the bulk of these inflows, escalating conflict in the Middle East prompted investors to sell, resulting in outflows of €18.7 billion in March alone. The quarter highlighted a continued divergence in investor preference: passive funds dominated with €120 billion in inflows, heavily skewed towards equities, whereas active equity strategies shed €12.7 billion.
