Sprott announced in a recent filing dated April 29, 2024, that Justin Tolman was promoted to comanager effective March 7, 2024. The change doesn’t affect Sprott Gold Equity's Above Average People or Average Process ratings. The move doesn’t come as a surprise. Tolman joined the firm in 2018 as an analyst and has worked closely with comanagers John Hathaway, Douglas Groh, Maria Smirnova, and Shree Kargutkar since Sprott acquired this strategy from Tocequeville in January 2020. Before that, he spent more than 20 years as a geologist for several mining companies, which is a distinctive skillset that should help when assessing the quality and viability of mining sites. This remains one of the deepest, most experienced gold-equity teams around.
