Summary

Despite some changes to the lineup over the years, the BlackRock Strategic Global Bond team remains impressive and deftly executes a strong investment process. The strategy is currently managed by Rick Rieder and Amer Bisat, aided by two members of BlackRock's‎ macro-positioning team, Russ Brownback and Trevor Slaven, who were added to the roster in 2018. While this team lost an experienced skipper when comanager Bob Miller retired in March 2023, the remaining team continues to execute the strategy in keeping with its process. The group's seasoned investors bring a wealth of experience, and while some key-person risk remains given Rieder's strong leadership, we have no immediate concerns about succession planning.
