Shell Completes Turnaround at 404,000 b/d Pernis Rotterdam Refinery — OPIS
Shell has completed a turnaround at its 404,000 barrels/day Pernis refinery near Rotterdam on April 24, a company spokesperson confirmed to OPIS Thursday.
"With 2,500 extra people from a total of more than 80 different service companies, a total of almost 700,000 man hours were worked," the oil major announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday.
The maintenance, which started in late January, was expected to be completed by mid-April, according to the company's post on X in January. A number of units were inspected, cleaned and parts have been replaced.
The U.K.-headquartered oil group warned neighbors of noise disruption on April 15 "due to necessary addition of steam."
Shell Pernis is the largest integrated refinery and chemicals manufacturing site in Europe. It processes crude oil into a range of products, including petrol, diesel, jet fuel, heating oil and lubricants.
Shell also produces petrochemicals that are used to make essential everyday items, according to its website.
