Goldman Sachs Global Treasurer Philip Berlinksi Leaving Company
By Colin Kellaher
Goldman Sachs on Friday confirmed that Philip Berlinski, its global treasurer, is leaving the Wall Street firm.
The disclosure, which Goldman made in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, comes days after the Financial Times reported that Berlinski plans to join hedge fund Millennium Management as co-chief operating officer.
Goldman said Berlinski will cede the global treasurer post on May 1 and will retire from the New York company on June 1. He will also retire as chief executive of Goldman Sachs Bank USA and as interim head of platform solutions and will similarly retire from such roles.
Goldman said Carey Halio, currently global head of investor relations, will succeed Berlinski as global treasurer on May 1.
Berlinski joined Goldman as an analyst in 1998 and was named managing director in 2007 and partner in 2008. Halio, who started at Goldman Sachs in 1999 as a summer associate, rejoined the firm in 2000, and was named managing director in 2009 and partner in 2016.
