Vinci Consortium Wins Australia Dam-Modernization Contract
By Adria Calatayud
Vinci said a consortium that includes its Australian subsidiary Seymour Whyte and engineering company SMEC won a contract to modernize a dam near Brisbane in Australia.
The French construction group said Friday that the project is valued at more than 86 million euros ($94.7 million) and includes upgrades to access roads and the dam's filtration system, among other works. The project seeks to increase flood capacity for greater climate-change resilience, it said.
Construction works will take around two years to be completed, Vinci said.
