PDD reported third-quarter earnings of 11.61 Chinese yuan ($1.64) a share on revenue of 68.8 billion yuan ($9.7 billion), exceeding estimates of analysts surveyed by FactSet, who expected earnings of 8.95 yuan a share on revenue of 55.2 billion yuan. PDD owns discount online retail platforms Pinduoduo in China and Temu internationally, making it a rival to dominant Chinese e-commerce player Alibaba as well as tech giant Amazon.
