Vinci Consortium Wins Contract to Recover Excavated Materials in France for $845 Million
By Andrea Figueras
Vinci said that a consortium led by its construction subsidiary has won a contract to recover excavated materials from the French side of the Mont-Cenis base tunnel for 800 million euros ($844.9 million).
The consortium will be in charge of the industrial treatment of the 23 million metric tons of materials excavated on the French side, the company said Tuesday.
The contract, which was awarded by Tunnel Euralpin Lyon-Turin, also includes the reuse of more than 50% of the spoil on site, the company said.
During the 120 months of works, the consortium will also provide 78,000 hours of work and training for people on integration paths, Vinci said.
