EasyJet Cancels 35 Flights After Luton Airport Fire

By Anthony O. Goriainoff

easyJet cancelled 35 flights to and from Luton Airport after a fire broke out Sunday at Terminal Car Park 2, and said it was suspending all flights until 3 p.m. local time.

The U.K. budget airline said Wednesday that it wasn't able to operate flights as planned due to the fire, and advised all passengers on cancelled flights to rebook or receive a refund, adding that it was providing hotel accommodation and meals where required.

"The safety and wellbeing of customers and crew is easyJet's highest priority and we would like to apologize to customers for the inconvenience caused," the airline said.

easyJet shares at 1047 GMT were down 4.30 pence, or 1%, at 435.70 pence.
