Trending: Allianz's 2Q Earnings Rise
1621 GMT Allianz is among the most mentioned companies across news items over the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data, after it booked higher earnings for the second quarter, powered by its property-casualty business. The insurer said that its property-casualty division booked a combined ratio of 92.2%, which powered performance--though it was slightly below analysts' expectations. The asset management business reported lower revenue on year, despite high performance fees, Allianz said. Net profit for the quarter rose to EUR2.34 billion from EUR1.98 billion the year prior, also beating analysts' forecasts, according to company figures. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva.
