Vitesco Technologies Signs $1 Billion Deal with ROHM for Semiconductor Material
By David Sachs
Vitesco Technologies said Monday that it has signed a supply deal with ROHM for silicon carbide, which is used in semiconductors, for more than $1 billion.
The German auto supplier said the deal with the Japanese semiconductor manufacturer will help it build inverters used in electric-vehicle powertrains, and that production will start as early as 2024. The contract runs until 2030, Vitesco said.
Vitesco said it has two customers on board with the product.
