By Kosaku Narioka
HCL Technologies Ltd.'s fourth-quarter net profit rose 11% from a year earlier thanks partly to greater revenue and a better margin.
The Indian information-technology services provider said late Thursday that net profit for the quarter ended March 31 rose to 39.83 billion rupees ($484.9 million) from INR35.93 billion a year earlier. That beat the estimate of INR38.76 billion taken from a poll of analysts by FactSet.
Revenue increased 18% to INR266.06 billion over the period.
Its earnings before interest and taxes margin improved to 18.1% in the quarter from 17.9% a year earlier.
For the fiscal year that began in April, HCL projects revenue growth at 6.0%-8.0% in constant-currency terms and an EBIT margin of 18.0%-19.0%.
