HealthTrust Performance Group Celebrates 25 Years of Serving Healthcare
HealthTrust Performance Group, the leading provider-owned and operated national healthcare performance improvement company, is celebrating 25 years of accelerating savings and optimizing total performance for hospitals, health systems and providers across acute and non-acute sites of care.
“We are honored to celebrate 25 years of helping our members achieve their mission of delivering exceptional patient care,” said Ed Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer. “At HealthTrust, we have remained true to our roots in how we broadly serve caregivers everywhere while also expanding our support capabilities to meet the changing needs of hospitals and health systems in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.”
Formed in 1999 by founding members HCA Healthcare, Lifepoint Health, and Triad Hospitals (now Community Health Systems), HealthTrust has evolved from a traditional group purchasing organization (GPO) into a total healthcare performance improvement company anchored by three distinct GPOs (acute care, non-acute care, and purchased services). HealthTrust’s unique perspective, diverse expertise and capabilities drive immediate value across all performance categories, including supply expense, labor and purchased services, among others.
“As operators of some of the largest supply chains in the industry, we tackle healthcare’s toughest challenges with decades of senior-level experience and the power of an aligned purchasing model,” said Jones. “Our operator expertise, aligned scale and innovation set HealthTrust apart in total performance optimization, spend management, and the development of a resilient global healthcare supply chain.”
Since its inception, HealthTrust has supported nearly 500 health systems totaling more than 112,000 sites of care. Today, the organization serves nearly 1,800 hospitals and health systems in the U.S. and the United Kingdom, and more than 69,000 other locations including ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices, long-term care and alternate care sites.
HealthTrust will celebrate 25 years of serving healthcare with members and suppliers during the 2024 HealthTrust University Conference, the company’s esteemed annual event that serves as a pivotal platform for bringing together prominent industry leaders, including HealthTrust executives, and distinguished experts from the healthcare and supply chain domains. The event will be held August 12-14 in Orlando, Florida.
