Shares of technology companies rose amid signs the artificial-intelligence boom was continuing apace.
Shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing rallied after the contract semiconductor maker said its April revenue rose 60%.
Among TSMC's customers, shares of Nvidia and Micron rose in anticipation of similar order trends. Shares of RB Global rose after the online vehicle and equipment auctioneer reported first-quarter sales growth.
