Stellantis in Talks With Vale, Huayou Cobalt to Invest in Nickel Smelter, FT Reports
--Jeep owner Stellantis is in talks with Vale Indonesia and China's Huayou Cobalt to invest in a nickel smelter in Indonesia as the European carmaker seeks to lock in supply of battery raw materials, the Financial Times reports, citing unnamed sources.
--The size of the companies' investment has yet to be determined and Huayou would hold a stake in the project alongside Stellantis and Vale, according to the FT.
--Stellantis, Vale and Huayou didn't immediately respond to requests for comment when approached by Dow Jones Newswires.
