Southern Michigan Bancorp Inc is a United States-based financial holding company. It is engaged in the business activity of the ownership and management of its wholly-owned subsidiary bank. The Bank offers individuals, businesses, institutions, and government agencies a full range of commercial banking services. The customer base is located primarily in the southwest Michigan communities in which the Bank has branches, and in areas immediately surrounding these communities. The Bank makes commercial and consumer loans to customers. The majority of loans are secured by business assets, commercial and residential real estate, and consumer assets. The bank operates in a single segment: commercial banking.
