Company Profile
MediaTek is a fabless semiconductor designer focusing on solutions for smartphones, digital televisions, and connectivity products. The business is divided into three product groups. The first is "mobile," which accounts for half of sales, where MediaTek is the second- largest third-party supplier of smartphone SoCs to the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo. The other half of sales is evenly split between "mature" and "growth." Mature involves the supply of SoCs to TVs and media players to major global TV brands like Sony, LG and Philips. Through its acquisition of MStar, it controls about 60% of the TV SoC market. Growth includes a wide range of products used on application-specific integrated circuits, or ASICS, automotive electronics, Chromebooks, smart home and Internet of Things.
