Activist investor Trian shakes up top ranks: report

Activist investor Trian Fund Management has reshuffled the top management of yet another company -- its own. Ed Garden, the firm's co-founder and chief investment officer, is stepping aside to focus on managing his personal investments. He will remain a senior adviser, according to a Wall Street Journal report Thursday. Co-heads of research Josh Frank and Matt Peltz, the son of co-founder Nelson Peltz, are expected to replace Garden, 62, as co-CIOs. Brian Baldwin, a member of Trian's investment team since 2007, will become head of research, the Journal reported.
