ICE Review: Canola Rallies Despite Weaker Soyoil

WINNIPEG, Manitoba--Canola futures in the Intercontinental Exchange maintained their positive momentum despite some bearish factors.

Crude oil showed little movement Wednesday amid reports of Houthi rebels attacking a Saudi oil tanker in the Red Sea and progress toward the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Chicago soyoil was down, European rapeseed was mostly higher and Malaysian palm oil was mixed.

The Canadian dollar was up three-tenths of a U.S. cent compared to Tuesday's close, putting pressure on canola.

There were 41,612 canola contracts traded on Wednesday, compared to Tuesday when 68,314 contracts changed hands.

Spreads accounted for 18,628 contracts.
