Sno Pac Foods Recalls Two Spinach Products Due to Listeria Concerns
By Josh Beckerman
Minnesota-based Sno Pac Foods recalled two spinach products due to listeria concerns.
Meanwhile, the Agriculture Department's Food Safety and Inspection Service updated its alert for two ready-to-eat HelloFresh meals containing spinach, adding that the alert isn't related to any ongoing outbreak investigations. The update also said the alert was related to the Sno Pac recall.
Sno Pac's recall notice, posted on the Food and Drug Administration website, said a bulk case of spinach from its supplier tested positive for listeria. The company said no related illnesses have been reported to date.
The recall is for 10-ounce organic frozen cut spinach and Del Mar 35-pound bulk frozen spinach.
The FSIS warning was for HelloFresh's Cheesy Pulled Pork Pepper Pasta and Unstuffed Peppers With Ground Turkey, produced by Texas-based FreshRealm.
In June, FreshRealm recalled some chicken fettuccine alfredo products sold at Walmart and Kroger as health officials investigated a listeria outbreak.
On Tuesday, FSIS issued an alert for two FreshRealm items after the company notified FSIS that riced cauliflower tested positive for listeria, including one Blue Apron item and one Marley Spoon product. Based on current evidence, the products in the alert aren't related to any ongoing outbreak investigations, FSIS said.
