US Futures Fall, European Stocks Mixed
In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 dropped 0.1% in morning trading. Oersted rose 5.8% and Evotec climbed 5.4%. On the other hand, Samhaellsbyggnadsbolaget lost 7.4%, and Beijer Ref Series B slipped 3.1%. The FTSE 100 added 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 declined 0.1% and Germany's DAX fell 0.2%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index dropped 0.1% to 97.72.
In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.2% to $77.07 a barrel, and WTI crude gained 0.2% to $72.65 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 0.2 basis points to 2.457% from 2.459%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury rose by 0.6 basis points to 3.803% from 3.797% Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan's Nikkei 225 index declined 0.9%, whereas Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbed 0.3%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite climbed 0.5%.
