Blackstone/Thomson Reuters Consortium Raises GBP2.7 Billion in London Stock Exchange Group Placing
By Joe Hoppe
Barclays Bank said Wednesday that the Blackstone/Thomson Reuters consortium has raised around 2.7 billion pounds ($3.37 billion) through a placing and retail offer of shares in the London Stock Exchange Group.
The bank said the consortium sold a total of 33.0 million ordinary shares in LSEG at a price of 8,050 pence an ordinary share in a placing to institutional investors and a separate offer to retail investors at the same price.
The placing was upsized from 28.0 million ordinary shares, as disclosed on Tuesday, and represents around 6.5% of the stock-exchange and financial-information company's issued share capital.
LSEG isn't a party to the proposed placing and won't receive any proceeds, Barclays added.
