Trending: SoftBank Group's CEO Plans to Discuss Arm-Samsung Tie-Up in Seoul

This comes after the company said late Wednesday that Chief Executive Masayoshi Son plans to discuss a potential partnership between Arm Ltd. and Samsung Electronics Co. during an upcoming visit to Seoul, according to media including Bloomberg. Softbank bought Arm in 2016 for $32 billion, and Mr. Son was jawboning a potential initial public offering of the chip designer in February after a deal worth an estimated $80 billion to sell the chip designer to Nvidia Corp. fell through.
