Dutch Farmers Block Roads in Protest Against Proposed Nitrogen Emission Cuts, AP Reports

--Farmers in the Netherlands have blocked several roads in the central and eastern part of the country in protest against the government's proposed nitrogen emission cuts, AP reports.

--Agricultural workers claim the Dutch government's target of cutting nitrogen oxide and ammonia emissions will put their livelihoods at risk, according to AP.

--The demonstrations come a day after the appointment of former Deputy Prime Minister Johan Remkes as mediator between the government and farmers' organizations, AP reports.
