International stocks trading in New York closed mostly lower on Tuesday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts ticked down 0.2% to 146.81. The European index edged down 0.5% to 139.78. The Asian index gained 0.5% to 171.78. The Latin American index fell 1.8% to 203.25, while the emerging-markets index retreated 0.1% to 291.73.
ArcelorMittal SA was among those whose ADRs traded actively.
The steel maker fell 5% after the company said it completed its $1 billion share-buyback program that was announced Feb. 11.
Spanish bank Banco Santander SA fell 9% despite its net profit increasing by more than expected in the first quarter as higher revenue offset a rise in loan-loss provisions.
